Forest Park Medical Center Selects Mobile Heartbeat CURE Smartphone Application For Clinical Communications

Employs MH-CURE at two of its new state-of-the-art medical facilities

Mobile Heartbeat, a leading provider of smartphone applications for improving clinical workflow and team communications, recently announced that Forest Park Medical Center locations in Fort Worth and San Antonio, Texas have implemented the MH-CURE (Clinical Urgent REsponse) smartphone application to enhance intra-hospital communications. The hospitals, which opened in the fall of 2014, are employing MH-CURE across their organizations in both clinical and non-clinical areas.

“Our new state-of-the-art hospitals offer the most current advances in healthcare, so we wanted to ensure we have leading edge communications as well,” said Rodney Bice, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at Forest Park Medical Center in Fort Worth. “Mobile Heartbeat’s MH-CURE smartphone application enables us to expedite communications among our staff members so we can deliver on our mission to provide superior patient care.”

MH-CURE was chosen for its features, flexibility and user-friendliness. Staff members can quickly and easily send secure text messages, voice call fellow team members and broadcast to multiple team members utilizing a staff directory showing who is on each patient care team. MH-CURE also integrates with the hospitals’ nurse call system so that patients’ nurse calls go directly to the nurses’ phones, enabling them to speed responsiveness to patients.

“Our experience with MH-CURE has been highly positive. Staff members report that they like using the MH-CURE smartphone app more than anything else they’ve used at other facilities,” said Damian Hellmann, respiratory manager at Forest Park Medical Center in Fort Worth. “MH-CURE allows us to expedite care. If a charge nurse needs to call me and I’m in a meeting in which I can’t answer a phone call, I can respond by text without disturbing what I’m doing at that moment.”

MH-CURE users have the option of downloading the application to their personal smartphones or using it on a phone supplied by the hospital. The majority of users at Forest Park Medical Center are using the phones supplied by the hospital.

“We’re growing and so will our use of MH-CURE over time,” said Bice. “As we add staff, we’ll add more phones and MH-CURE will become a more prominent aspect of our workflow.”

MH-CURE enables efficient delivery of clinical data and communications to users on-site, off-site and at multiple locations to ensure timely patient care decisions and response. With MH-CURE, care team members can view the availability and location of other team members at all times. Hospitals save time and reduce costs as well as improve patient care when using MH-CURE.
