Kyndryl Helps Norway's DIPS Improve Medical Services

Norway's leading eHealth software supplier works with Kyndryl Consult to implement VMware Tanzu and advance health technology for Norwegian hospitals

Kyndryl, the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, today announced that it has implemented a robust Managed Kubernetes platform for DIPS AS, the leading supplier of eHealth systems to Norwegian hospitals. The platform will allow the development teams to further enable seamless services to more than 100,000 daily users.

With contracts spanning three of Norway's four regional health trusts and five of the nation's six university hospitals, DIPS plays a pivotal role in the Norwegian healthcare landscape. DIPS’ solutions put technology at the heart of patient care and enable personnel to significantly improve.

Considering the need for a secure on-premises setup in hospitals and following a rigorous evaluation process, Kyndryl presented DIPS with several options and recommended VMware Tanzu as a Managed Kubernetes solution. DIPS recognized Kyndryl’s deep experience with VMware, which led to Kyndryl’s engagement to implement the platform.

“At DIPS, our goal is to provide advanced- and cloud-ready software as a service that supports integration and collaboration among our network of hospitals. We engaged Kyndryl because of their proven track record of developing innovative IT infrastructures for companies worldwide,” said Dag Morten Rasmussen, IT and Operations manager, DIPS AS. “The implementation process was based on Kyndryl’s best practices, and Kyndryl provided a high caliber of professional experts and templates.”

Kyndryl Consult capabilities will help speed up and streamline operations and reduce complexity. The implementation of the cloud-ready, secured platform will ultimately help DIPS deliver technology solutions that can lead to optimized healthcare processes at hospitals.

The new cloud-enabled services allow DIPS to roll out new applications at doctors’ digital workplaces at existing and new hospitals as needed. These services can help hospitals optimize costs and operate with flexibility, reliability and efficiency.

“We are excited to help DIPS implement a modern platform that will ultimately contribute to enhanced digitalization within Norwegian health,” said Rohan Nair, Senior Partner, Kyndryl Consult, Nordics. “Norway puts an emphasis on e-health, digital patient care and telemedicine – all of which we believe has to be ultimately enabled by robust, secure and modern IT platforms such as the journey that DIPS is undertaking.”
