Braintree, MA (PRWEB) - In today’s healthcare industry, hospitals and other facilities need the ability to securely share information between systems to meet compliance standards, work effectively with care partners and provide the best possible patient service. That’s why Summit Healthcare, an industry leader in healthcare system integration and automation solutions, has released the Summit Express Connect Web Services Adapter. This powerful tool enables healthcare organizations to easily and cost effectively integrate disparate applications and share data between them using universal web protocols and data formats such as HTTP(S), XML, SMIME, SOAP and JSON.

As a complement to Summit Express Connect interface engine, the new adapter gives hospitals, medical centers and other healthcare entities the ability to connect software applications, systems and databases by utilizing existing web infrastructure. For the first time, users will be able to take advantage of the best aspects of component-based development with the convenient access of the web.

“The Summit Express Connect Web Services Adapter enables healthcare clients to integrate applications more quickly, extensively and cost-effectively than ever before, and helps them implement a standards-based approach,” said Brian Rogers, Director of Product Management at Summit Healthcare.

Typically, EHR vendors require their customers to perform custom coding to effectively apply web services to their products. With the Summit Express web services adapter, this costly and time-consuming process is unnecessary, as the solution offers “out of the box” support for security, SOAP wrapper handling, WSDL discovery, parsing and more. In addition, an intuitive Web Services Description Language (WSDL) tool enables administrators to configure their own connectivity methods.

The ability to securely share information between applications creates opportunities for healthcare organizations to work closely with disparate care partners, such as provider practices, specialty clinics, labs, suppliers, payers, health information exchanges, ACOs and government agencies. Tighter integration between applications not only promises advances in patient care and service, but also opens up potential new revenue streams in the increasingly competitive healthcare market.

“Summit Healthcare is dedicated to helping organizations get the most value from their technology investments and closing the gaps between their applications,” said Summit Healthcare, CEO, Ted Rossi. “The Summit Express Web Services Adapter fits this approach, providing a new, flexible way to bring systems together.”
