The University Hospital of Leipzig has closed the last gap in the use of the Electronic Patient Files for inpatient treatment: their deployment at the bedside. The result of the neurosurgery project is a clear optimizing of the care process. The mobility solution designed and realized by the IT management of the clinic and the Institute for Medical Computer Science, Statistics and Epidemiology supports improved documentation and resource planning in the medical and care areas with positive effects on care quality and economy of operation. Components of the solution include a terminal server and WLAN infrastructure and the STYLISTIC Tablet PC and Convertible LIFEBOOK for mobile tasks.
