AmeriNet Expands Agreement with Beckman Coulter

Group purchasing organization AmeriNet Inc. (St. Louis) and biomedical instrument supplier Beckman Coulter Inc. (Fullerton, CA) have renewed an immunochemistry agreement and amended it to include Beckman Coulter's automation systems and high-volume Synchron LX 20 clinical analyzers.

The agreement, according to an AmeriNet statement, allows the company to offer Beckman Coulter's diagnostics products, along with a lab process analysis called "The Power of Process," to its more than 9,200 members. "The Power of Process" helps increase lab efficiency through workflow analysis and other activities, according to a Beckman spokesperson. The agreement also provides AmeriNet members access to all Beckman Coulter clinical chemistry and cellular analysis lab products.

The four-year agreement, which extends from April 1, 1999 to 2003, is said to represent an estimated $250 to $300 million in sales for Beckman Coulter.
