AnyDoc Software, Inc., a leading provider of automated document and data capture and classification solutions, announced recently that it was selected as a semi-finalist for the 2008 Tampa Small Business of the Year Award, presented by the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce.

Of the nearly 300 nominations, AnyDoc was named one of ten semi-finalists in the 51-250 employees category. Other award categories include 5-20 and 21-50 employees. As small businesses encompass half of the U.S. workforce, the Tampa Small Business of the Year Awards recognize the exemplary companies headquartered in Hillsborough County, Florida, which represent this important business segment.

"Being nominated for the Tampa Small Business of the Year Award is an honor in itself, and making it to the semi-finalist level attests to AnyDoc's successes as a company and the adversities we have overcome," said Samuel Schrage, president of AnyDoc Software. "This recognition embodies AnyDoc's commitment to our customers, employees, community, and our goal to continue our company growth."

Highlights from the award submission include AnyDoc's financial stability, operational efficiency, and dedication to the community. As a privately-held company with no external debt, AnyDoc has never experienced the mergers or acquisitions so common in its industry. Competing with public companies many times its size, the document and data capture software developer not only holds its ground within the data capture marketplace but has created a positive mark within the Tampa Bay area.

And, the company continues to operate by their corporate philosophy of developing software that solves real world problems and exceeds customer expectations.

In addition, AnyDoc gives back to the community by participating in local food and toy drives to support local organizations such as Metropolitan Ministries and The Children's Home. In lieu of holding a holiday party, AnyDoc donates $100 in each employee's name to the charity of his or her choice. These donations are a way of involving employees in giving back to others who may be less fortunate. Past contributions have gone to local organizations such as All Children's Hospital Foundation, The Spring of Tampa Bay, Habitat for Humanity, and the Tampa AIDS Network.

Judging for the prestigious business award is based on five criteria: history and philosophy, business goals and planning, operational management, innovativeness, and community leadership. Finalists will be announced July 18, and the winner will be selected during an awards dinner on September 19.
