Agreement Provides Market with Reliable Ambulatory Pump System Featuring the Latest Technology to Ensure Patient Safety, Ease-of-Use

Bethlehem, PA — B. Braun Medical Inc., a leader in innovative healthcare products and services, and Curlin Medical LLC, a leader in ambulatory pump innovation, announced their renewal of a definitive three-year exclusive distribution agreement. The extension ensures continued national distribution, training and technical support for an array of reliable and easy-to-use infusion pumps.

Curlin Medical Ambulatory Pumps are used in multiple medical applications including pain management delivery, nutritional, and antibiotic therapies. The pumps enable health-professionals to pre-set doses for patient self-administration.

This life-enhancing medical device empowers patients to participate in their own care and recovery. "When patients are in pain, they aren't thinking about innovation or safety – they're thinking about reliability, convenience and relief," notes Tim Richards, senior vice president, Marketing, B. Braun Medical Inc. "Understanding that health professionals and patients have complementary care needs has been the driving force behind the successful B. Braun/Curlin Medical partnership. Together, we provide the most dependable infusion pumps featuring breakthrough safety technology and industry-leading expertise," added Mr. Richards.

Together, B. Braun and Curlin Medical have experienced strong growth in market share and units during the initial three years of the agreement. The contract extension allows for expanded initiatives, including co-development of new products planned for both the hospital- and alternate-care sectors.

"Recent market conditions and the Curlin reliability track record created an environment for significant market growth and adoption in hospital and outpatient settings," said Mike Parsee, chairman, Curlin Medical, LLC. "Renewing this contract provides the medical community with the highest level of supply and service support, training and technical support they have become accustomed to since Curlin partnered with B. Braun Medical."

The partnership has led to the companies increasing field staff throughout North America and service representatives to major hospital, GPO and Alternate Care Home Infusion Customers. As a result, Curlin has recently expanded its production capacity for pumps, IV administration sets and accessories to meet increased demand for innovation in wireless technologies, data monitoring and guidelines software.
