Cardiac Pacing Lead
The lead's thin lead body (approximately 2.07 mm) enables it to fit through a smaller (7 French) introducer, a device used by clinicians to insert the lead into a patient, essentially forming a pathway into a patient's vein, which causes a smaller pathway, and thus a less intrusive implant procedure. Despite its thinness, the lead is readily visualized by the physician during implantation, easing the task of placing the lead in the desired position. Final positioning is further simplified by the lead tip's electrically active collar, which enables the physician to map the inside of the heart, using electrical measurements to find the best position to anchor the lead tip.
