Fischer Medical Announces Multi-System VersaRad Installation At St. Joseph's Hospital In Marshfield, WI
Denver, CO - St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI has completed the multi-unit installation of Fischer Medical Technologies' VersaRad CR radiography system. These units are being used in the Emergency/Trauma Department as well as for St. Joe's Diagnostic Imaging services.
St. Joseph's Hospital and Marshfield Clinic are the principal organizations of the Marshfield medical complex serving Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Clinic, which adjoins the Hospital, is one of the country's largest private multispecialty group practices, with more than 700 physician-specialists.
Scott Lokken, Radiology Manager at St. Joseph's, worked directly with Fischer to customize the VersaRad units, making them precisely suitable for the current radiography needs of the hospital and clinic, yet adaptable for future growth and advancements in technology. Lokken's past experience with Fischer's predecessor Traumex system is the basis on which he chose the VersaRad CR. In particular, he cites that with this system virtually all radiographic procedures can be performed in both the ER and general radiographic rooms; rooms needed to be available for use 24/7 and provide high throughput. This enables his facility to perform as many as 60 procedures during a 12-hour shift.
The VersaRad's unique design is durable, easy to use, and very importantly cost-effective - all of which will contribute to St. Joe's ability to meet its medical and business objectives.
Morgan W. Nields, Chairman and CEO of Fischer Medical Technologies indicated that Fischer is about to release the VersaRad DR, a digital radiographic system affordably upgradeable from the CR units purchased by St. Joe's. Nields explained, "Fischer had installed hundreds of Traumex systems throughout the US and Europe since its first version was developed in the 1980's. We are pleased that we are able to offer our customers an opportunity to economically trade or upgrade the original systems to the latest CR or DR VersaRad."
