The Photon DR dual-chamber ICD offers powerful tachycardia therapy, precise arrhythmia sensing and supra-ventricular tachycardia (SVT) discrimination
The Photon DR dual-chamber ICD offers powerful tachycardia therapy, precise arrhythmia sensing and supra-ventricular tachycardia (SVT) discrimination. By combining the company's proprietary second-generation Morphology Discrimination (MD) algorithm with A-V Rate Branch, an advanced A-V association discrimination algorithm, the ICD offers highly-discriminating SVT diagnosis and reduces the likelihood of inappropriate shocks. Through this combination, the device is designed to distinguish difficult rhythms, such as 1:1 retrograde VT from sinus tachycardia. It is 12.7 mm thin, making it one of the world's thinnest dual-chamber ICDs. Additional features include:
- Offering 37 Joules of stored energy, the ICD is designed to provide effective therapy for patients with high defibrillation thresholds.
- Despite its small size, energy output is not compromised due to FlatCap capacitor technology.
- It offers Programmable Waveforms and Shocking Vectors for increased clinical flexibility.
- The second-generation Morphology Discrimination (MD) algorithm features Automatic Template Update, which automatically updates the morphology template, based on dynamic changes in the patient's baseline cardiac signals.
- Auto Sensitivity Control offers precise rhythm sensing capabilities through beat-by-beat sensitivity adjustment.
- Built upon the company's Affinity pacemaker platforms, the ICD offers advanced bradycardia features, including the Omnisense accelerometer sensor, Auto PMT Detection and Termination, Auto Rate Response, Auto Rest Rate, Auto Mode Switch and DDD Hysteresis with Search.
- It includes DC Fibber induction for fast and reliable VF induction during the implant process. DC Fibber delivers a single, direct current pulse through high voltage electrodes to induce VF and assess device performance.
