Insulin Pump

The D-TRON is an insulin pump that people can customize to accommodate their own unique insulin needs. The operation of the insulin pump offers users flexibility with five different options for customizing delivery of the extra ("bolus") doses of insulin required to compensate for meals or snacks. The extended bolus feature does not calculate the amount and duration of the bolus. Instead, the amount and duration of the bolus can be set by the user. Another option enables the pump user to create two distinct basal profiles (such as a weekday and a weekend profile). It also has a feature called the "Bite Bolus" or "Munch and Punch" bolus, which allows the user to program an insulin dose while eating, instead of guessing in advance how much they will eat or trying to compensate later.
