Integrated Radiology Solution

ARIIS (Advanced Radiology Image and Information System) Version 1.0 is a complete web-based solution for the acquisition, management, and presentation of customized information and images throughout the Radiology Enterprise. This system was designed to provide improved patient care through the delivery of "real time" complete radiological information, leading to faster and more informed decisions for a multitude of healthcare providers simultaneously. Radiologists, primary care physicians, and medical specialists can obtain and interpret needed images and other patient data through customized Intranet "portal" views.

The system combines features such as order entry, resource scheduling, PACS, RIS (Radiology Information System), report generation, and billing with workflow tools into a single web-based product. It leverages technologies such as COM (Component Object Model), Active X, and Extensible Markup Language (XML) on the Microsoft Windows NT Platform.

In addition, it provides speech recognition command and control, integrated speech recognition dictation, digital roto-viewing, and satellite view workflow assigning. Radiology orders can be place via secure Internet connection by referring physicians. Inpatients can then be selected from the patient list generated by HIS/ RIS interface (HL7). The system's Order Entry component includes lexical mapping of indication for study linked to the ICD9-CPT exclusionary codes, which prevents non- reimbursable studies.
