Kaiser Foundation's South Bay Medical Center Teams With Precyse For Remote Coding Technology And Services
Wayne, PA - Precyse Solutions, a provider of Health Information Management services, has signed an agreement with Kaiser Permanente's South Bay Medical Center in Harbor City, CA to provide remote medical record coding technology and services for the hospital's Emergency Department.
Precyse Solutions is installing PrecyseCode, its remote coding technology platform, along with high speed, in-house scanners to support a team of coders who work from their homes. PrecyseCode is a proprietary remote coding/abstracting platform offering integrated scanning, coding and documentation storage features using an ASP platform. The PrecyseCode platform provides a basis for the implementation of an Electronic Medical Record for use by the hospital's personnel. Because hiring medical coders is one of the more difficult tasks facing hospitals today, South Bay Medical Center should be able to realize significant labor cost savings with PrecyseCode.
The PrecyseCode solution also will enable South Bay Medical Center to navigate through a significant change in its reimbursement process for Emergency Department services. Under this change, the hospital is required to code all ED patient encounters to support a new billing process. South Bay Medical Center chose to partner with Precyse Solutions on this initiative based on the depth of experience and resources available from Precyse and on the efficiencies afforded by the PrecyseCode platform. Precyse has worked with South Bay Medical Center on previous HIM projects.
Jeff Levitt, founder, Chairman and CEO of Precyse Solutions, comments, "Precyse is pleased to expand our relationship with South Bay Medical Center. The PrecyseCode platform offers them an immediate solution to their billing situation and will be a critical for them during the change in reimbursement methods they have to manage through."
