LifePoint Hospitals To Sell Two West Virginia Hospitals

Brentwood, TN - LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. recently announced the signing of definitive agreements for the sale of two of its hospitals in West Virginia. St. Joseph's Hospital, a 325-bed hospital located in Parkersburg, WV, will be sold to Signature Hospital Corporation, Dallas, TX, and 155-bed Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston, WV, will be sold to Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital Association, South Charleston, WV. Both hospitals had been classified as assets held for sale since purchased from HCA Inc. in June 2006. A majority of the proceeds will be used to pay down Company debt. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed, although the transactions remain subject to customary closing conditions, including CON approvals.
