Medicare Outpatient PPS Software Components

The company has introduced APCActive Medicare Outpatient PPS software components for enterprise and web-based health care applications. The Code Editor and Pricer components duplicate the data editing, APC assignment and reimbursement calculations used by Medicare for hospital outpatient claim payment under the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS). These software components provide a convenient way to add complex Medicare APC assignment and reimbursement logic to applications for the Windows 95/98/NT/2000 client environments.

The software components use the same formulas and hospital-specific data that Medicare intermediaries use to calculate claim payments and can calculate an estimated Medicare outpatient payment, including APC outlier amounts, for any Medicare hospital.
