Medtronic Announces Availability Of CD HORIZON® LEGACY™ 4.5 Spinal System

Memphis, TN - Medtronic, Inc. recently announced the U.S. availability of the CD HORIZON® LEGACY™ 4.5 Spinal System with G4 Technology. According to Medtronic, the system combines the clinically proven deformity reduction capabilities of the CD HORIZON® LEGACY™ 5.5 and 6.35 Spinal Systems with a lower profile implant design for better patient matching. The company added that the system is designed to treat smaller patients with spinal deformities using a best-in-class posterior instrumentation solution. Company sources also added that the system, with a 4.5 mm surgical rod implant, combines the proper balance of flexibility, strength and profile for smaller stature patients while the screws, available in multiple diameters, are believed to provide surgeons with a more precise fit in various anatomies.

In addition to all the above-mentioned features, Medtronic also said that the CD HORIZON® LEGACY™ 4.5 Spinal System features the G4 closure technology - a reverse-angle set screw designed to thread more easily and increase construct strength while minimizing the implant's head size.
