New 'Dreamie' Luxury Hospital Gown Gives Greater Comfort, Coverage
Custom Gown Ideal Gift for Loved Ones Facing Hospital Stay; Gives Patients More Control over Healthcare Experience
Nashville, TN - Medgowns has unveiled the Dreamie, a luxury hospital gown that maximizes the physical and emotional comfort of those undergoing medical treatment, including mothers-to-be, the chronically ill and residents of long-term care. Unlike other hospital gowns, the Dreamie offers full privacy in the back as well as other design elements that enhance a patient's dignity.
Medgowns launched the Dreamie this week at Gilda's Club Nashville, where company founders Liza Coleman and Ashley Levi presented members of a wellness group with gowns to wear during their treatments. Gilda's Club is an international organization that provides emotional and social support to those living with cancer.
"People come to Gilda's Club for different reasons, but many want to learn to be as comfortable as they can, both physically and emotionally, as they live with cancer," said Sandy Towers, executive director of Gilda's Club Nashville. "We are grateful that companies like Medgowns are striving to help people take some control over their healthcare experience."
The Dreamie is made of soft cotton and carefully crafted with attractive details, including a wraparound-style closure so patients have full coverage in the back, hidden snap closures at the shoulders, and a small pocket that covers a chest opening for an IV or heart monitor. The women's gowns feature eyelet detailing and a white grosgrain ribbon tie.
The gown is designed for patients anticipating a hospital stay or medical treatment, including those who are chronically ill and must make frequent in- and out-patient visits for chemotherapy or surgery, mothers-to-be, nursing mothers, and residents of long-term care facilities. It is an ideal gift idea for anyone who wants to help make a loved one's hospital experience more pleasant. The Dreamie makes patients feel pampered while also ensuring their maximum hygiene, since they do not have to wear the standard gowns that hospitals recycle among all patients.
"Dreamies help ease the experience of patients who often dread the sterile and uninviting atmosphere of a hospital," Coleman said. "In our gown, patients feel attractive and special."
Coleman and her sister Ashley Levi founded their company, Medgowns, after spending time in the hospital for the births of their children. Coleman has a background in pharmaceutical sales and retail. Levi also has a background in retail and serves on the board of the H.G. Hill Company, a real estate business for which she provides strategic planning and negotiation support. Natives of Nashville, both women are active in the community and each has two children.
"We believe that if you look good, you feel good," Levi said. "Research has shown that your health is more likely to improve when you are more comfortable. Our vision is for every family to have a Dreamie hanging in the closet. One member might use it for surgery and someone later might need it when having a routine medical test such as a mammogram."
