Nicolet Vascular (formerly Imex Medical Systems)
Imex is a division of Nicolet Vascular Inc. Nicolet Vascular is a wholly owned subdivision of Nicolet Biomedical.
The first product Imex manufactured was the Pocket-Dop, a small handheld Doppler device used to detect blood flow in obstetrical applications. It continues to be a best seller in its updated and modified form. Subsequent products were expanded to encompass vascular as well as obstetrical applications. Additional products that currently make up our Small Products Group (SPG) include the StethoDop, Pocket-Dop II, ImexDop CT+, Imex FreeDop, Imex CareDop, Nicolet Elite, and the Imex Antepartum and Twin Antepartum Monitors.
In 1983, the Company expanded into the field of peripheral vascular physiologic testing equipment for the diagnosis and assessment of peripheral arterial and venous disease. First on the scene was the model 301 vascular recorder/Doppler which evolved into the ImexLab 3000DX. In 1990, the completely automated ImexLab 9000 was introduced setting new standards in vascular testing equipment. The ImexLab 9000 also underwent a series of hardware enhancements and software upgrades evolving into the ImexLab 9100. A portable vascular testing system, ImexLab 8000, was introduced in 1992 as a result of company expansion through the purchase of a competing product line. In 1998, our flagship VasoGuard system was introduced, representing the first of a new generation of vascular testing equipment.
In August 1997, Nicolet Biomedical Inc. of Madison, Wisconsin acquired Imex Medical Systems Inc., and Nicolet Vascular Inc. was formed. Our parent company, Nicolet Biomedical Inc., is a leading manufacturer of neurophysiology equipment in the fields of diagnostic neurology and intra-operative monitoring technologies. Nicolet Biomedical manufactures systems that compete in the areas of EEG, EMG, EP, epilepsy monitoring, sleep disorder diagnosis, and muscle and nerve evaluation. In 1998 Nicolet Biomedical acquired Grayson-Stadler Inc., expanding their presence in the audiology field.
