Patient Charging/Tracking
A major problem in hospitals today, is lost patient charges. The reason for this problem is that "charge" systems tend to be cumbersome and awkward and discourage staff use. The Scan Modul approach simplifies the process. The staff is less resistant, and lost charges are significantly reduced.
The data can be used to "cost" supply usage by diagnosis. The hospital is then better able to negotiate reimbursement and capitation rates.
In order for a patient charging/tracking system to be successful it must capture the most information possible in the simplest manner. This will minimize the percent of charges by non-entry.
In order to do this, the product and the patient must be identified. We have made this a simple two step process.
1) Scan the patient's bar-code
2) Scan the bar-code on the product's basket.
