Position Management Tracking System

The Realtime Position Management System will enable non-fluoroscopic guidance of cardiac electrophysiology catheters. This technology is integrated with a full-featured cardiac electrophysiology laboratory recording system allowing instant correlation of anatomic position with electrical activation. The catheters contain ultrasound transducers that are used to precisely triangulate, in real-time, the positions of the catheters within in the heart during the electrophysiology study. The system combines the ultrasonic signals with 3D graphics to display real-time catheter position and track movement, while recording the associated intracardiac electrograms. Previous catheter positions can be stored and annotated to enable precise navigation, simplifying complex ablation procedures. The system may have the potential to significantly reduce fluoroscopy time and exposure, making electrophysiology procedures safer for patients and staff.
