Provista To Provide Group Purchasing Services To Virginia Hospitals

Richmond, VA - VHHA Services, the shared services division of the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA), and Provista, LLC have partnered to provide group purchasing services to Virginia hospitals. This agreement will enhance Virginia hospitals' and their affiliates' access to a broad array of health care group purchasing agreements, with the strength of more than $31 billion in combined purchasing power.

The VHHA Services-Provista agreement is structured to benefit all members of the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association by providing them with direct access to Provista's contract portfolio and resources and technology solutions, which are focused on lowering overall supply chain costs.

"We are excited about this opportunity because it allows VHHA members to work directly with Provista to access its industry-leading portfolio, while providing significant value and incentives that strengthen VHHA's broader efforts to its members," said Dan Blucher, vice president of sales at Provista.

"This agreement will provide Virginia hospitals and their affiliates exceptional value through greater leveraged buying power on the products and services they use daily," said David Jenkins, director of member services, VHHA Services. "With no minimum participation level required, access to this resource will afford our members the largest, most competitive and comprehensive portfolio available."

Provista is an Irving, Texas-based health care group purchasing organization (GPO) serving more than 10,000 health care organizations across the nation. Provista is jointly owned by VHA Inc. and the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), two national health care alliances. Provista's agreements are contracted and managed by Novation, the industry's leading contracting services company. Additional information about Provista is available online at www.provistaco.com.
