MediTrust is a solution for secure, portable access to sensitive patient information over the Internet. Integrated into the company's Internet platform, it was designed to create a secure environment in which physicians, hospitals, practice groups and laboratories can exchange patient records and other sensitive data. The product allows organizations that deal with electronic patient information to link existing systems together with minimal expenditure, while meeting emerging federal standards for the protection of patient privacy.

This innovative solution combines the most advanced security technology with a user-friendly interface. Taking a step beyond conventional Internet security systems, it allows a user to quickly establish a secure connection from any computer with access to the Internet, including PDAs. The solution is built upon 128-bit encryption and public key infrastructure in combination with a portable, software-only authentication system that employs the power of digital certificates protected by "cryptographic camouflage." The system can authenticate roaming users who are logging-in from remote computers. This technology will be available for the Pocket PC in the first quarter of 2001.
