Siteworx, Inc. And SDL Provide Web Content Management Solutions For The American Psychological Association

SDL, the leading provider of Global Information Management solutions and Siteworx, Inc., an award-winning interactive agency with deep Web Content Management (WCM) roots, are pleased to announce the implementation of SDL Tridion® in the American Psychological Association's (APA)For more information, visit www.apa.org.

With the new apa.org website, the APA has deployed a new web infrastructure, consolidating multiple websites, centralizing web functions and enabling its staff to quickly and easily create new templates to streamline web operations through workflow.

"We are thrilled to have supported the APA in the challenging, yet highly rewarding initiative to re-engineer its web operations," said Tim McLaughlin, president of Siteworx. "By deploying enterprise-class solutions such as SDL Tridion for Web Content Management, large organizations with complex web publishing needs can significantly streamline their processes, ultimately reducing the cost and complexity of web management."

As with all large, complex web projects, the APA's new site required advanced design and software integration to deliver on the Association's primary business objectives. In addition to implementing and integrating the SDL Tridion WCM solution, Siteworx created a highly flexible search utility for the website, using the Microsoft FAST enterprise search solution. The site's new search capability is designed to handle APA's complex taxonomy and provides for a level of "learned response" based on user activity. Content migration presented yet another technical challenge. Siteworx utilized a content migration solution from Kapow Technologies to transfer almost 20,000 content assets from the legacy site.

"Siteworx proved to be a strong asset in the long process of re-architecting our web infrastructure which began almost three years ago. Their in-depth knowledge of the SDL Tridion WCM solution and enterprise search expertise with Microsoft's FAST solution proved integral to our successful launch and we continue to rely on their expert knowledge and development capabilities," said Dr. Tony Habash, Executive Director and Chief Information Officer, American Psychological Association.

"We are certainly excited that our WCM solution has proven its value with a scientific and professional organization of the APA's stature," says Jan Jaap Kolleman, CEO of the Web Content Management Solutions division at SDL. "The new site is not only cutting-edge, it helps visitors access accurate content intuitively and quickly. Along with our partner, Siteworx, SDL will help provide an ideal experience for the APA's global user base."
