Standing-Position MRI

The Stand-Up MRI allows patients to walk in and be scanned while standing up. The product allows all parts of the body, particulary the spine and joints, to be imaged in the weight bearing state. A floor-recessed elevator brings the patient to the height appropriate for the targeted image region.

A custom-built adjustable bed allows patients to sit, lie on their backs, sides, or stomachs at any angle. They can be rotated into the Trendelenburg position for MR angiography. The product allows full-range-of-motion studies of the joints in virtually any direction, and maximal flexion cines of the lumbar spine can be achieved under full body weight. The product is also useful for MR-directed surgical procedures as the surgeon enjoys unhindered access to the patient with absolutely no restrictions in the vertical direction.

This easy-entry, mid-field-strength scanner is ideal for trauma centers where a quick MRI-screening within the first critical hour of treatment will greatly improve patient's chances for survival and optimize the extent of recovery.
