Ster-O-Zone is sterilization system designed for use in hospital surgical suites and central service departments. It utilizes an adapted surgical instrument container as the sterilization chamber. Users load the container into the system and attach four quick-connect fittings. A syringe filled with distilled water is set in place and the user presses a button to start the sterilization cycle. A secondary containment chamber closes around the instrument container and the sterilization cycle begins.
The instruments are preconditioned and then exposed to humidified ozone gas. Following exposure, the ozone gas is purged from the system and is converted back into oxygen. A printed report confirms that the sterilization cycle was completed successfully and data about the cycle is recorded by the system's internal computer.
The system is designed to operate on 110 or 220 volt power from a standard wall outlet. No special electrical connections or plumbing are required. It operates at low temperatures and allows simple operation and provide users feedback on an LCD screen.
