University HealthSystem Consortium Selected As Greenville Hospital System's Supply Chain Partner

Oak Brook, IL /PRNewswire/ -- The University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) today announced that the 5-hospital Greenville Hospital System (GHS), of Greenville, SC, has selected UHC to provide supply chain services. Effective immediately, GHS, one of the largest health systems in the southeast, will transition its supply chain services to UHC from its former group purchasing organization, Premier.

"UHC's proven expertise in meeting the needs of academic medical centers [AMCs] and its broad range of purchasing agreements through Novation, including the AMC portfolio, will provide savings opportunities to GHS and help us achieve our supply chain goals," said John Mateka, GHS executive director of Corporate Materials Management. Novation is UHC's supply contracting company.

GHS will have access to UHC's full range of supply chain resources, which are used by the majority of the nation's AMCs and their affiliated organizations to manage supply costs and improve supply chain efficiencies. UHC supply chain optimization services include:
