WebChart is a Web-based clinical documentation tool that gives physicians an online, central information source for patient data. The tool can be accessed for data entry or retrieval from any Internet-connected computer or wireless device, including cellular phones, pagers, or personal data assistants (e.g., Palm Pilots). Physicians can use it to perform simple tasks such as: searching for medications, writing or renewing prescriptions on customized forms, entering and updating patients' medication histories, viewing each patient's medications, and checking lab results.
In addition, the tool automates the documentation and coding processes, helping physicians comply with HCFA and HIPAA regulations. It also generates a complete patient record for patient visits and automatically calculates the accurate Evaluation & Management (E&M) code, ensuring sufficient documentation to support charges.
Another version of the tool, WebChart CardioVascular automatically captures Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) outcomes data and generates the appropriate E&M codes.
